Vision:

To be the desired outpatient surgical and diagnostic center in Colleton and surrounding counties by providing quality, cost-competitive and compassionate services while enhancing the quality of life for our patients, staff, and community.

History of Our Organization

Approximately 17 years ago, the physicians in the Colleton County area approached the owners of the Colleton Medical Center regarding the construction and operation of an outpatient surgery center. At the time, hospital management did not envision the center a feasible option. The physicians pursued the concept with the Roper Care Alliance. The Alliance was very interested and applied for a CON.

Shortly after, Columbia/HCA purchased the local hospital. The new CEO of Colleton Medical Center expressed a definite interest in meeting the needs of the community and the local physicians. The CEO pursued a partnership in the outpatient surgery center with the Alliance.

In 1996, Columbia/HCA and the Roper Care Alliance formed a joint venture to construct and operate the outpatient surgery center. The joint venture was established as the Colleton Ambulatory Care, LLC. The Colleton Diagnostic Center, LLC was also formed to provide laboratory, EKG, diagnostic x-ray, and mammography services located within the same facility.

In 2002, Colleton Medical Center become the sole owner of the center. The center is freestanding and is the only one of its kind in Colleton County. Physicians from Colleton County and surrounding areas have privileges and provide high quality and accessible care to the local community and surrounding areas.
